Description
Born in the 1900s under the combined influences of French tradition and Japonism, the Diplomate collection displays floral and ornamental inlaid motifs of incomparable finesse, adapted in 1938 for a commission from President Roosevelt. Placed to the left of the setting, the bread plate holds bread throughout the meal and can also be used to serve petits fours and other treats.
